Veronica Varekova is Hublot's New Ambassador - 02.04.10

Today in New York Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver presented the firm’s new ambassador, model Veronica Varekova, who will appear in ads for Hublot and also work with the firm to raise funds for the African Wildlife Foundation– and will provide input as the firm creates ladies watches.

Today’s announcement marks the first time Hublot has adopted an icon to showcase its women's collections. Biver said an affinity between the brand and the Czech top model has grown out of common values and a shared passion for extraordinary adventures, as well as a concern for our environment.

Varekova is deeply involved with the African Wildlife Foundation. After climbing Mount Kilimanjaro she developed a profound appreciation for extreme environments and their wildlife, realizing the urgent need to protect and preserve them. She became involved with the Foundation, which has been active for fifty years, to promote and help support its initiatives which aim to protect the communities, wildlife, species and landscapes of Africa.

Hublot will help support the African Wildlife Foundation in partnership with Veronica, in particular by incorporating its logo in its campaigns and through a variety of special joint events. In New York yesterday, Biver offered two Hubot watches for auction to the Foundation and also auctioned a trip with Manchester United, the famed soccer team, which Hublot supports.
