Jack Feldmar established a legacy of service and selection when he first opened the doors of Feldmar Watch Co. in 1913. Four generations later, Feldmar Watch Co. is renowned throughout California for their deep and broad assortment of fine timepieces, as their 6,000-square-foot showroom is home to over 60 brands. Varying in prestige and price tag, Feldmar’s assortment includes Blancpain, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Glashütte Original, Ulysse Nardin, Hermès, IWC, and Roger Dubuis. There are timepieces within Feldmar’s inventory for the seasoned collector and the novice watch enthusiast alike, with over 30 industry veterans to assist customers across the counter as they peruse the jeweler’s selection.
On a typical day, the Los Angeles-based retailer will welcome both the passerby who needs a simple battery replacement and the well-established collector who is looking for their next treasured timepiece. The atmosphere of the Feldmar salon is extremely comfortable and pressure-free, catering to the needs and comfort of all. Customers feel right at home whether they are buying a simple quartz model or a highly complicated automatic timepiece, as sales associates attend to all needs with the same level of care. In addition to timepieces, Feldmar sells Omas and Montegrappa pens, the full Montblanc product line, and clocks by Erwin Sattler. Watch winders are also offered to the delight of many collectors, with a vast selection from Orbita, Scatola del Tempo, Underwood, Wolf Designs and Swiss Kubik.

Scott Meller, the founder’s great-grandson, illustrates with a unique story, “We recently sold a stunning Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Automatic to a Nobel Prize winner. We asked Jaeger for the first one (it was a brand new SIHH product at the time) since our customer wanted it engraved with a copy of his Nobel Prize, and was taking it to Sweden to wear during the annual gathering of Nobel Prize winners in Stockholm. We were already in quite a time crunch! The engraving by JC Randall took close to six months to complete, and we received the watch on a Friday, the customer picked it up Saturday, and left on Sunday for Sweden. Perfect timing and a satisfied customer.”
Feldmar’s sales team is composed of dedicated watch enthusiasts, whose passion for timepieces matches the level of service they deliver. Manager Jamie Hayes shares, “When not assisting customers, our employees can often be found with their eyes glued to a variety of industry publications, ensuring that they deliver the most accurate information to those who enter the store. Also, regularly scheduled brand trainings and watch show overviews supplement the “literary” education. We want our customers to truly feel comfortable with the timepieces they purchase at Feldmar’s, and an educated sales team is the first step.”
Recently, Feldmar took its commitment to the customer experience to a whole new level with the creation of its private salon, HMS, located within Feldmar Watch Co.’s elegant store.
