I am interested on learning the trade of watch making/fixing. I have a master Degree in Electrical Engineer and I find myself pretty bored at work. I have always been interested on watches and I think I have mechanical abilities (as a kid I took apart everything I got my hands on). So can you please advise/direct me on how to learn that trade. Demand today is very high for good watchmakers, and many of the better watch firms are either starting or affiliating with top notch watchmaking schools to be sure there are people who can service the watches they are now selling. While several individuals and a few schools offer watch repair courses, there are about 12 highly-regarded schools in the US that teach watchmaking. Most require at least 2 years of in-class training, and several offer tuition-free courses, though you'll need to pass the exam and buy your own tools.
