I am currently interested in buying an automatic EDOX (Chronograph) . Since this is a significant investment (about USD2000) can you please advise me if this is correct investment which will benefit me in the long run.
Edox is a well known brand and does produce a fine timepiece. Pricing is in the middle of the range of watches with similar quality attributes.
If the plan is to re-sell the watch then, like most things, there will be an initial depreciation of the value as the watch (or car, or whatever) is no longer "new". Any mechanical watch will hold a certain inherent value forever but only a very few watches will actually grow in value (beyond their suggested retail) in the near future.
If you enjoy the look and feel of the watch then you should know that it will give a lifetime of service if properly cared for and maintained. Whether or not that is worth $2,000 is up to ultimately up to you!
